My Experience at the Faith Formation Conference

On Saturday, November 22nd, the youth council and I attended a Faith Formation Conference. Many groups from different dioceses also attended to learn and grow in their faith. The conference was meant to strengthen our faith, so that we could better be able to lead confirmation retreats in the following year. There were different workshops you could attend with different speakers and topics. My mentor, Ynez, conducted a workshop about youth ministry. The first workshop I attended was about joy versus happiness, and the impact joy makes in our lives. The second workshop I attended was about empowering the youth and young adults to take on leadership roles in parishes. This workshop related to me the most because the speaker emphasized the importance youth had in maintaining the church community. He told us to encourge the youth to take on leadership roles so that we can grow the church. Lastly, the ending workshop talked about how to preach a clear message that is relatable to everyone. He reminded us to do everything we do in love. Overall, I learned many different lessons about leadership and faith in this conference, as well bond with my Youth Council Team, I will use the knowledge I learned and apply it to the retreat I am going to lead in the next year.
